Green Onion Spiral Rolls
Ingredients
• 4 cups all-purpose flour — 500g
• 1 cup warm milk — 240ml
• ¼ cup sugar — 50g
• 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast — 7g
• 1 large egg — 50g
• ¼ cup butter, melted — 55g
• 1 teaspoon salt — 5g
• ½ cup chopped spring onions/green onions — about 50g
• 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing — 30g
Instructions
Combine the warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Add the egg and melted butter, then mix well.
Add the flour and salt gradually. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and allow it to rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle the chopped spring onions evenly over the surface.
Roll the dough tightly from one end into a log.
Cut the log into 9 equal pieces and arrange them in a greased baking pan, spiral side facing upward.
Cover and allow the rolls to proof for another 30–45 minutes.
Brush the tops lightly with melted butter.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20–25 minutes, or until beautifully golden brown.
Brush with a little melted butter immediately after baking for a soft, glossy finish.
Serve warm and enjoy these fluffy, buttery green onion spiral rolls. 😋
