🧾 Ingredients:

  • Dry:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour 🌾
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar 🍬
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
  • 1½ tsp baking soda 🥄
  • 1 tsp baking powder 🥄
  • 1 tsp salt 🧂

  • Wet:

  • 2 large eggs 🥚
  • 1 cup whole milk 🥛
  • ½ cup vegetable oil 🛢️
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
  • 1 cup boiling water 💧

  • Chocolate Boost:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 🍪 (folded into batter)

  • Ganache Frosting:

  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped 🍫
  • 1 cup heavy cream 🥄

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

Prep Oven & Pans:

🔥 Preheat to 350°F (175°C), grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

🥣 Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Add Wet Ingredients:

🥄 Mix in eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.

Add Boiling Water:

💧 Slowly stir in boiling water (batter will be thin—don’t worry!).

Fold in Chocolate Chips:

🍪 Gently mix in chocolate chips for bursts of chocolate in every bite.

Bake:

🍰 Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Make Ganache:

🍫 Heat cream just until simmering. Pour over chopped dark chocolate, wait 5 mins, then stir until smooth.

Cool & Frost:

🎂 Let cakes cool completely, then frost with luscious ganache. Optional: chill the cake slightly to firm up the ganache.
