Marble Cake Loaf

Ingredients

  • 250g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 200g (1 cup) sugar
  • 200g butter (room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 120ml (½ cup) milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 170°C and grease a loaf pan.

In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.

Divide the batter into two equal parts. Add cocoa powder to one part and mix well.

Spoon the vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the loaf pan. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batter to create the marble effect.

Bake for about 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
