Easy & Quick Chocolate Pound Cake Loaf
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – 1½ cups (190 g)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder – ½ cup (50 g)
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup (200 g)
- Unsalted butter, softened – ¾ cup (170 g)
- Eggs – 3 large
- Milk – ½ cup (120 ml)
- Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – ¼ teaspoon
- Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then set aside.
In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for about 50–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
Optional Quick Chocolate Glaze
Powdered sugar – 1 cup (120 g)
