Basic Muffin Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/4 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons essence of your choice (vanilla, almond, or lemon are great options)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (or any neutral cooking oil)

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Muffin Pan:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Line a muffin pan with paper liners or lightly grease each muffin cup.

Combine the Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and sugar.

Mix the Wet Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and essence until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into the well and gently mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the muffins dense.

Fill the Muffin Pan:

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.

Bake the Muffins:

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Cool and Serve:

Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
