Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake 🍫🎂

Ingredients:

- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped

- 8 oz milk chocolate, chopped

- 8 oz white chocolate, chopped

- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup vegetable oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 large eggs

- 2 cups heavy cream, divided

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 3/4 cup boiling water

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan to ensure your base comes out perfectly.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined. Next, add the eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat everything on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

3. Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be quite thin, but that's just right! Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

4. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean. Once done, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

5. For the dark chocolate mousse, melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, then let it cool slightly. In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the melted dark chocolate and then spread this mixture evenly over your cooled cake base.

6. To make the milk chocolate mousse, repeat the process: melt the milk chocolate, cool it, and fold in whipped cream. Spread this creamy layer on top of the dark chocolate mousse.

7. Now, for the final touch, repeat the same steps for the white chocolate mousse. Melt, cool, fold, and layer it over the milk chocolate mousse.

8. Cover the entire cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or even better, overnight. Once set, it’s time to serve! Decorate with chocolate shavings, a dusting of cocoa powder, or a handful of fresh berries for that extra wow factor.
