Super Soft Pull-Apart Milk Bread

Ingredients:

* 4 cups (500 g) bread flour or all-purpose flour

* ¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk

* 2 eggs

* ¼ cup (50 g) sugar

* 2 teaspoons instant yeast (about 7 g)

* ½ teaspoon salt

* ¼ cup (55 g) softened butter

* ¼ cup (30 g) milk powder

For the egg wash

* 1 egg

Instructions :

1. Mix the ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, milk powder, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk and eggs, then mix until a rough dough forms.

2. Knead the dough: Knead for about 5 minutes, then gradually add the softened butter. Continue kneading for another 8–12 minutes until the dough becomes smooth, elastic, and stretchy.

3. Allow the dough to rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and leave in a warm place for 40 minutes , or until doubled in size.

4. Shape the bread: Punch down the dough and divide it into 10–12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. To create the ridged design, flatten each ball into an oval, make several shallow parallel cuts without cutting through the dough, then roll it up tightly. Alternatively, divide the dough into small balls and arrange them closely in rows for a pull-apart loaf.

5. Proof and brush: Arrange the shaped dough on a lined baking tray, leaving a little space between pieces. Cover and allow to rise for another 30–45 minutes. Beat the egg with the milk and gently brush the tops.

6. Bake and serve: Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 18–25 minutes, depending on the size, until golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool slightly before pulling the bread apart.
