Reese’s Peanut Butter Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups (375g) creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 ½ cups (440g) powdered sugar
- 1 ½ cups (180g) finely crushed Reese’s Pieces
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) coconut oil or vegetable shortening
Directions:
Creamy Peanut Butter Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture until it’s smooth, creamy, and well blended.
Sweeten the Mixture: Gradually add the powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time, mixing after each addition until the mixture becomes firm and pliable.
Add the Crunch: Gently fold in the crushed Reese’s Pieces, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Shape into Balls: Scoop out approximately 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a smooth ball using your hands. Place each ball onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chill: Once all the balls are formed, transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and chill for 20-30 minutes, or until the balls are firm.
Prepare the Chocolate Coating: Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (or shortening) in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and glossy.
Dip and Coat: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Tap off any excess chocolate and place the coated balls back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
Optional Decoration: For an extra decorative touch, sprinkle a few crushed Reese’s Pieces on top of each ball while the chocolate is still wet.
Set the Coating: Refrigerate the chocolate-coated balls for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully hardened.
Store and Serve: Store the finished treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy them chilled for the best flavor and texture.

Tips:
For a smoother chocolate coating, ensure the melted chocolate is warm but not too hot to avoid uneven spreading.
To add a touch of elegance, drizzle extra melted chocolate over the coated balls once they’ve set.
