🛒 INGREDIENTS
For the Bread:
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 3 large eggs, room temperature
* 2 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
* 1/4 cup whole milk
* 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 tsp baking powder
* 1/4 tsp baking soda
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/2 cup red & green sprinkles (use jimmies/rod shapes so colors don't bleed!)
For the Vanilla Glaze & Topping:
* 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
* 2–3 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* Christmas nonpareil sprinkles (red, green, and white ball sprinkles)
🥣 INSTRUCTIONS
* Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
* Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes). Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, sour cream, and milk until well combined.
* Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
* Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing with a spatula until just combined (do not overmix!). Gently fold in the holiday jimmie sprinkles.
* Bake: Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
* Cool: Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
* Glaze & Decorate: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth and pourable. Pour evenly over the cooled bread, letting it drip down the sides. Immediately cover generously with festive Christmas nonpareils before the glaze sets!
