Croissants recipe

Ingredients

• Plain flour – 3 cups (360 grams)

• Sugar – 2 tablespoons (25 grams)

• Milk powder – ¼ cup (25 grams)

• Instant yeast – 2 teaspoons

• Salt – 1 teaspoon

• Warm water – ½ cup (125 gm)

• Egg – 1

• Melted butter – 2 tablespoons

• Vanilla essence – 1 teaspoon

• Soft unsalted butter – as needed, for layering

• Egg beaten – for brushing

Method

1. In a large bowl, combine the plain flour, sugar, milk powder, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well.

2. Add the warm water, egg, melted butter, and vanilla essence. Mix until everything is well combined.

3. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and soft.

4. Divide the dough into 10–12 equal portions and shape them into balls.

5. Cover and let them rest for 15–20 minutes.

6. Roll each dough ball into a thin round. Spread about 1 teaspoon of soft butter over it.

7. Fold and roll the dough into a triangle shape.

8. Make a small cut at the wide end of the triangle, then roll it up toward the pointed end to form a croissant shape.

9. Arrange the croissants on a lined baking tray and let them rest until slightly puffy.

10. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

11. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.

12. Stuff the croissants with your favorite filling.

13. Enjoy your homemade croissants!
