King's Bread – Fluffy, Sweet, and Perfect with a Cup of Coffee

A soft, sweet bread filled with chocolate and your favorite sweet spread, ideal for enjoying fresh from the oven alongside a warm cup of coffee.

King's Bread – Fluffy, Sweet, and Perfect with a Cup of Coffee

Ingredients

  • 150 ml warm milk
  • 150 ml warm water
  • 130 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 690 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 30 g extra flour (for the white dough)
  • 20 g cocoa powder (for the chocolate dough)
  • Dulce de leche to taste (or your preferred sweet filling)
  • 120 g chocolate chips
  • Egg yolk for brushing

Preparation

1️⃣ Prepare the dough

In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, warm water, butter, yeast, and 2 eggs. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined.

2️⃣ Add flour and salt

Add 690 g of flour along with the salt. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until a cohesive, smooth dough forms.

3️⃣ Divide the dough

Split the dough into two equal portions.

White dough:

4️⃣ To one portion, add the extra 30 g of flour and knead until smooth. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size.

Chocolate dough:

5️⃣ To the other portion, add the 20 g of cocoa powder. Knead until smooth and let it rise until doubled in size.

6️⃣ Assemble the bread

Roll out the white dough on a flat surface. Place the chocolate dough on top, aligning them evenly.

7️⃣ Add filling

Spread dulce de leche (or your chosen sweet filling) over the chocolate dough and sprinkle evenly with 120 g of chocolate chips.

8️⃣ Shape the loaf

Roll the dough halfway, make small cuts for a decorative finish, then complete rolling. Place the loaf in a greased and floured 22 cm loaf pan and allow it to rise until doubled in size.

9️⃣ Bake

Brush the top with egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 35 minutes, until golden and cooked through.

Remove from the pan while warm. Enjoy this fluffy, sweet, and chocolate-filled loaf with coffee for an irresistible treat.
