Marble Cake (Vanilla & Chocolate Loaf)

🛒 Ingredients

  • For the batter:

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g butter (softened)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 120 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (≈ 10–12 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

  • For the chocolate part:

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp milk (extra)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the batter

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Grease and line a loaf pan.

In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

Add vanilla extract.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add dry ingredients to the batter, alternating with milk.

2. Divide & flavor

Split the batter into 2 equal parts.

Leave one part plain (vanilla).

Mix cocoa powder + 2 tbsp milk into the second part.

3. Create the marble effect

Pour alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate batter into the pan.

Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl (don’t overmix).

4. Bake

Bake for 45–55 minutes.

Check with a toothpick (it should come out clean).

5. Cool & serve

Let cool for 10–15 minutes before removing from pan.

Use room temperature ingredients

Don’t overmix after adding flour

For extra moisture: replace half the milk with yogurt
