Golden Syrup Loaf Cake
Ingredients
• 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
• 1 cup butter (225g), softened
• 3/4 cup golden syrup (180ml)
• 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
• 4 large eggs
• 1/2 cup milk (120ml)
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F) and grease a loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Pour in the golden syrup and vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth and lump-free, but do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and level the top.
Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
