Simple Orange Yogurt Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- Zest of 1 orange
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until well combined.
Add oil, yogurt, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Sift in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gently fold until just combined (don’t overmix).
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack.

For extra orange flavor, drizzle with a simple glaze (orange juice + icing sugar).
You can replace oil with melted butter for a richer taste.
