Banana Cream Pie
Ingredients :
Crust :
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Filling :
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
Topping :
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 banana, sliced for garnish
- Graham cracker crumbs for sprinkling
Preparation :
1. Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter.
2. Press into a pie dish or springform pan.
3. Chill crust for 30 minutes.
4. In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
5. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
7. Let filling cool slightly, then fold in sliced bananas.
8. Pour filling into chilled crust.
9. Chill pie for at least 4 hours or overnight.
10. Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
11. Spread whipped cream over pie.
12. Arrange banana slices on top.
13. Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.
