Chocolate Vanilla Marble Pound Cake
Ingredients
Vanilla Batter:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cups unsalted butter, softened
- 2½ cups granulated sugar
- 6 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
Chocolate Batter:
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ cup hot water
- ½ cup chocolate chips, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
1. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk in three additions, starting and ending with flour.
1. Transfer one-third of batter to another bowl. Mix cocoa powder with hot water, then fold into this portion along with melted chocolate chips.
1. Spoon batters alternately into pan. Swirl with a knife for marble effect.
1. Bake 70-80 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
1. Cool in pan 15 minutes, then invert onto wire rack to cool completely.
**Yield:** 12-16 slices
