Chocolate Glazed Donuts
Ingredients :
- Dough :
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Glaze :
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Toppings (optional) :
- Chopped nuts (pecans, hazelnuts)
- Chocolate sprinkles or shavings
- Drizzled chocolate lines
Preparation :
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add warm milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Knead dough 5–7 minutes until soft and elastic. Cover. Let rise 1 hour.
Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into circles with a donut cutter.
Place donuts on parchment-lined tray. Cover. Let rise 30 minutes.
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
Drain on paper towels. Cool completely.
Whisk powdered sugar, cream, melted chocolate, and vanilla until smooth.
Dip tops of cooled donuts into glaze. Let set.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts or chocolate sprinkles while glaze is wet.
For drizzle style, thin glaze slightly and pipe lines over glazed donuts.
