Decadent Triple Chocolate Layer Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease three 8-inch round cake pans.2. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
3. In another bowl, beat sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients, then stir in hot water until combined.
5. Divide batter among pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
7. For ganache, heat cream until simmering, pour over chocolate, and stir until smooth.
8. Add butter to ganache and mix until glossy.
9. Stack cakes with ganache between layers and spread over top and sides.
10. Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
