Super Moist Fudgy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients For The Cake

 • 2 cups all-purpose flour

 • 1 cup cocoa powder

 • 2 cups sugar

 • 1 tsp baking powder

 • 1½ tsp baking soda

 • ½ tsp salt

 • 2 large eggs

 • 1 cup buttermilk

 • ½ cup vegetable oil

 • 1 cup hot coffee or hot water

 • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Ingredients For The Chocolate Filling

 • 250g dark chocolate

 • 1 cup whipping cream

 • 2 tbsp butter

Ingredients For The Caramel Filling

 • ½ cup caramel sauce or dulce de leche

Method

Preheat oven to 170°C and grease two cake pans.

In a bowl combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Pour in hot coffee or hot water and mix gently. The batter will be thin.

Divide batter into pans and bake for 30–38 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Allow cakes to cool completely.

For the chocolate filling, heat whipping cream until hot then pour over chopped chocolate. Add butter and mix until smooth and glossy. Chill slightly until spreadable.

Level cakes and slice each layer if needed for neat layers.

Pipe or spread chocolate filling between layers and add a thin strip of caramel filling in the center just like the picture.

Cover the entire cake with chocolate ganache or chocolate buttercream and smooth neatly. Chill before slicing for sharp clean cuts.
