Marble Loaf Cake
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – 2 cups (250g)
- Baking powder – 2 tsp
- Salt – ¼ tsp
- Unsalted butter – 1 cup (227g), softened
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup (200g)
- Eggs – 3 large
- Vanilla extract – 2 tsp
- Milk – ½ cup (120ml)
- Cocoa powder – 3 tbsp (about 20g)
- Hot water – 2 tbsp
Instructions
Cream the softened butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt, then fold into the mixture alternating with milk until a smooth batter forms.
In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with hot water to make a paste. Transfer one-third of the batter into the cocoa paste and mix well.
Grease and line a loaf pan. Spoon the vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the pan. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl through the batter to create the marble effect.
Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool before slicing.
