Chocolate Covered Heart Cookies with Sprinkles

Ingredients :

  • 1 batch sugar cookie dough or shortbread cookies baked in heart shapes
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • Pink red and white nonpareil sprinkles
  • White chocolate chips optional for drizzling

Preparation :

1. Bake your heart-shaped cookies until golden and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals stirring until smooth.

3. Dip each cooled cookie into the melted chocolate using a fork to lift it out gently.

4. Tap the fork against the bowl to remove excess chocolate and place the cookie on parchment paper.

5. Immediately cover some cookies with pink red and white sprinkles while the chocolate is wet.

6. For the drizzled look melt white chocolate separately and use a spoon to drizzle thin lines over the dark chocolate coated cookies.

7. Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving.
