BANANA BREAD

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • ½ cup sugar (white or brown)
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (if batter is too thick)

  • Optional Add-ins:

  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • Raisins or dates

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 170–180°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.

2. In a bowl, mash bananas until smooth.

3. Add sugar, oil (or butter), eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.

4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spice.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix gently until combined. Do not overmix.

6. Add milk if batter is too thick. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

7. Pour batter into prepared pan.

8. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
