Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 250g All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 150g Butter, softened
- 150g Brown sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- Optional:
- Chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
Prep: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Creaming: In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until smooth and fluffy.
Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine: Gradually stir the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
Add-ins: Fold in the chocolate chips or nuts, if using.
Shape: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them on the sheet, leaving space between each.
Flatten: Lightly press down on each ball with a fork.
Bake: Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden brown.
Cool: Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Variations
Nutty: Add macadamia nuts or pecans for extra crunch.
White Chocolate: Swap the dark chocolate chips for white chocolate.
Oatmeal: Stir in 50g of rolled oats for a chewier, heartier texture.
Spiced: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm, spiced flavor.
Pro Tip: For a "bakery-style" finish, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top right after they come out of the oven!
