Chocolate Hazelnut Layer Cake

Ingredients :

Cake layers :

- 200g all-purpose flour

- 150g granulated sugar

- 100g unsalted butter, softened

- 3 large eggs

- 50g cocoa powder

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 50ml milk

Hazelnut cream :

- 300ml heavy cream

- 100g powdered sugar

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 100g hazelnut spread (like Nutella)

- 50g chopped roasted hazelnuts

Chocolate ganache :

- 200g dark chocolate (70%)

- 150ml heavy cream

Decoration :

- 50g chopped chocolate bars

- 30g whole roasted hazelnuts

- Chocolate syrup for drizzle

Preparation :

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.

2. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.

3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Mix gently. Add milk and vanilla.

4. Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool completely.

5. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

6. Fold in hazelnut spread and chopped hazelnuts. Set aside.

7. Heat cream until simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth. Cool slightly.

8. Place first cake layer on plate. Spread half the hazelnut cream.

9. Add second cake layer. Cover top and sides with remaining cream.

10. Pour chocolate ganache over the top. Let it drip down the sides.

11. Sprinkle chopped chocolate, whole hazelnuts, and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

12. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
