Best Peanut Butter Brownies (Buckeye Brownies)
Ingredients:
- For the Brownie Base:
- 1 box fudge brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as package directs)
- (or use your favorite homemade recipe)
- For the Peanut Butter Layer:
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (as needed for smoothness)
- For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup heavy cream
Directions:
Bake brownies: Prepare brownie mix as directed on box and bake in a greased 9x13-inch pan. Let cool completely.
Make peanut butter layer: In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and spreadable. Spread evenly over cooled brownies. Chill while making ganache.
Make ganache: Heat cream in a saucepan or microwave just until simmering. Pour over chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
Top brownies: Pour ganache over peanut butter layer and spread evenly. Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares.
