Soft and Buttery Homemade Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups (312g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
- ¾ cup (180ml) warm milk
- ¼ cup (60ml) warm water
- ¼ cup (57g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- For brushing:
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for a few minutes until frothy. Add the egg, softened butter, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size. Punch down the dough and divide it into small even balls. Arrange them in a greased baking pan, cover, and allow to rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown. Brush the warm rolls generously with melted butter to give them a soft, shiny finish.
