Custard loaf

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups cake flour 
  • 1/2 cup white sugar 
  • 1 cup milk 250ml
  • 1/2 cup butter 113g (room temp)
  • 1/4 cup custard powder 
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence 
  • 2 tsp baking powder 
  • 1/4 tsp salt 

Instructions 

1. In a large bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add vanilla then beat in one egg at a time .

3. In a small bowl mix 1/2 cup milk with custard powder. Leave the other 1/2 cup milk for later .

4. Pour the custard milk mixture to the butter and egg mixture. Mix gently. Then sift in flour , salt and baking powder.

5. Mix gently to combine the wet and dry ingredients. Then pour 1/2 cup of the milk . Mix until you get a smooth consistency.

6. Pour the batter (mixture) in a prepared loaf tin. 

Bake in a preheated oven at 175 Degrees Celsius for 30- 35 minutes or until well baked .
