Chocolate cake

Ingredients:
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup boiling water
• Whipped cream, for filling
• Chocolate sauce, for filling and topping
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.[8 or 9 inch]
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
4. Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth. It will be thin, but that's okay.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Once cooled, slice the cake horizontally to create two layers.
8. Drizzle a layer of chocolate sauce on one layer, and spread whipped cream. Place the other layer on top.
9. Drizzle more chocolate sauce over the top of the cake.
10. Slice and serve with a dollop of whipped cream if desired. Enjoy!
