Christmas Tree Cake
Christmas Patchwork Cake or Christmas Tree Cake🎂☃️🎄. It features a festive design with red and green squares, some with Christmas tree decorations and others with snowflake patterns.
Ingredients:
- Cake:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- Frosting and Decoration:
- Buttercream frosting (homemade or store-bought)
- Green, red, and white food coloring
- Various sprinkles and decorations for the trees and snowflakes
Instructions:
1.Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a square cake pan.
2.Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3.Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4.Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
5.Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
6.Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
7.Prepare Frosting:
Divide the buttercream frosting into three bowls. Tint one bowl green, one red, and leave one white.
8.Decorate the Cake:
-Frost the entire cake with a thin layer of white frosting as a crumb coat. Chill the cake for 15 minutes.
-Apply a second layer of white frosting. Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the green frosting in the shape of Christmas trees in the green squares. Use red frosting for the red squares and pipe white snowflakes on top of them. Decorate the trees with small sprinkles and decorations.
9.Serve:
Carefully transfer the cake to a serving platter and enjoy your festive Christmas Tree Cake!
