Decadent Chocolate Layer Cake

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 3/4 cups sugar

- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 cup buttermilk

- 1/2 cup vegetable oil

- 2 eggs

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup boiling water

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- Chocolate frosting

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.

2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 

3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; beat until combined.

4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

5. Divide batter evenly among pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.

6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.

7. Once cooled, stack layers with chocolate frosting between each, then pipe frosting on top.

8. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
