For the cupcakes:

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup whole milk

- 1 cup M&M candies (plus extra for topping)

For the frosting:

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 4 cups powdered sugar

- 1/4 cup heavy cream

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Food coloring (optional)

- Additional M&M candies for decoration

𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔:

For the cupcakes:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.

2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

3. Beat softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.

4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.

6. Fold in M&M candies gently.

7. Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Cool cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the frosting:

10. Beat softened butter in a large bowl until creamy.

11. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.

12. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.

13. Frost cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or knife. Decorate with additional M&M candies.
